ENT surgeons are rapidly adopting the use of Electro Lube for adenoid, tonsil, and thyroid procedures, especially on instruments such as Electro Lube's Product Spotlight: Suction Cautery. Electro Lube on a suction cautery device reduces eschar buildup, thus preventing clogging of the suction tube and the stoping/starting normally associated with this procedure.
Electro Lube also helps prevent pulling eschar off of the cauterized tissue, reducing the need to cauterize the same tissue twice. ENT surgeons are also finding Electro Lube quite effective for use on their bipolar forceps, resulting in more efficient vessel seals.
Neurosurgery
Neuro Surgeons have found Electro Lube can be a great advantage when used on their Bipolar Forceps. Electro Lube reduces the chances of a tearing a seal while removing your instrument from the vessel. Fewer torn seals results in less bleeding and reduces the need to cauterize the same tissue twice.
Electro Lube also reduces time wasted on cleaning eschar buildup during surgery and will make instrument processing faster and easier, with less “maintenance” damage. With fewer scratches due to cleaning, there is even less opportunity for sticking and eschar buildup.
Robotic Surgery
Do you use a da Vinci or other surgical robot? How much of your time is wasted while an instrument is retracted, detached, cleaned of eschar buildup, reattached, and reinserted? Electro Lube noticeably reduces lost time by keeping instruments from sticking to tissue during cauterization, meaning less bleeding and less eschar to slow down your procedure.
In fact, the use of Electro Lube is recommended in the user’s manual of the da Vinci surgical robot.
Gynecology
The honey-like solution of Electro Lube will provide an anti-stick coating for all electro-cautery and endo-coagulator instruments. Electro Lube not only saves time due to instrument cleaning, but with less eschar buildup, visualization and control is increased.
If you use a Kleppinger device, Electro Lube virtually eliminates tissue sticking. It helps keeps bipolar coag/cutting forceps clean and responding smoothly. Electro Lube even works well with loop electrodes.
Use Electro Lube on your next Laparoscopy and see the difference for yourself!
General Surgery
As a versatile addition to your OR, Electro Lube allows you to make any electro-cautery instrument non-stick. Use it with L-Hook electrodes, spatula electrodes, Maryland Dissectors, Hot Scissors.
Electro Lube reduces the sticking involved with electro-cautery surgery, and through that, eschar buildup. But when there is eschar on your instrument, Electro Lube makes it so the buildup often just “flakes off,” sometimes without even having to pull the instrument out. It goes without saying that less scraping of your instruments will result in a longer lifespan of your instruments whether reusable or disposable.
Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgeons have found an effective use in Electro Lube when combined with their electro-cautery pencils. For extended-use electro-cautery procedures like abdominoplasty and mastopexy, Electro Lube keeps pencil tips clean, reducing time spent cleaning off eschar.
Also, plastic surgeons using bipolar forceps find Electro Lube very effective for reducing the sticking to, and tearing of vessel seals.
